Behind the Rolling Chair is a community of volunteers who find passion in helping the impoverished children and communities in the country through the Back to School Gift Giving Project. This project started out in May 2011 with a small expedition to Kumasi, Santa Maria, Davao del Sur where the Behind the Rolling Chair team distributed school supplies to seventy (70) underprivileged school kids. The activity drew a lot of attention which led not only to the second installment of the project but up to the 6th installment which we had last year, drawing beneficiaries to over four thousand children already, to date, including those from our three adopted orphanages.
For the past six years (2011 – 2016), we take pride in our successful gift giving projects in the following areas:
Kumasi, Davao del Sur, Padre Pio’s Home for Children, Providence Home of St. Joseph, Pongpong Sta. Maria Elem School, Balay Pasilungan, SPED Bangkal Elem School, San Agustin Elem School, B’laan Street Kid Vendors, San Pedro Elem School, Davao Occidental, Datu Daligasao Elem School, Davao Occidental.
This year, with the cooperation of the Davao Bloggers Society, we will hold the 7th Back to School Gift Giving Project on May 21, 27, and June 5, 2017. We hope that you can join us as we continue our mission of championing education and fighting rural illiteracy.
