#Accessibility : Bayfront Hotel, Cebu city

Cebu is dependably a top traveler goal in the Philippines yet this is quite recently my second time to visit this wonderful city of the Visayas region. And as a Person With Disability (PWD), one thing that i really take into serious consideration is the accessibility of the place. I am very fortunate that I am staying in an inexpensive hotel yet very accessible for wheelchair user, not to mention the excellent customer service. The one im talking about is the new built hotel in the metro Cebu, the Bayfront Hotel Cebu.

Let us have a glimpse of how accessible it is to Persons With Disability (PWD) traveler.

 The entrance of the hotel.

Modern style and huge lobby space to cater customers. The entrance has a standard ramp with enough size for wheelchair, ground floor (lobby) has its own PWD toilet and two elevators with friendly attendants. There are four types of rooms that you can get; Standard, Superior, Suite, and Barkada Rooms.

Entrance ramp

Ramps. That’s always my problem every time I visit a certain place in the Philippines. Some establishments, just for the sake of complying the requirements for building permits, their ramps are very dangerous. Yes, that’s very true. If it is not designed properly, it creates dangerous situation for the ramp user. We have standard size for ramps. It should not be too steep or uneven and it should be clear from any barriers. Good thing, the hotel has a standard ramp.

Bathroom/Comfort room. Another important area of a hotel to address accessibility is the comfort room. One access challenge to a wheelchair user like me is, is it wide enough for my wheelchair to get in?. And this is Bayfront Hotel Cebu’s CR for PWDs. Take a look at this.

Lift/ Elevator. One of the top issues also faced by wheelchair clients is an absence of satisfactory lift access inside a building. And one thing Bayfront Hotel Cebu’s elevator good feature, it has a sufficiently long deferral on its entryway shutting instrument to permit wheelchair clients to securely enter.

If you are looking for an accessible accommodation, then Bayfront Hotel is one to consider. This mid rise hotel is located in Kaohsiung Street, North Reclamation Area, Cebu City, walking distance to SM City Cebu.

And by the way, it is just in front of the MyBus station which is very convenient if you need to go to the airport, it’s the only bus in the city that is accessible to wheelchair and very cheap at the same time (P25).

Thank you Cebu and Bayfront Hotel for this very nice experience.
