TIPS HOW TO APPLY JAPAN VISA AND GET MULTIPLE ENTRY

japan header copy

Having problem applying for Japan Tourist Visa? Are you worried about the Bank Balance Certificate? How about, no Income Tax Return? Well, below i have some tips that you can apply in order to succeed in your application of Visa. But first, here are the requirements on getting a Japan Tourist Visa

1. Philippine Passport

2. Completed Visa Application Form

3. Photo (4.5cm x 4.5cm) with white background

4. NSO Birth Certificate

5. NSO Marriage Contract (Valid for 1 yr)

6. Tour Itinerary

7. Bank Balance Certificate (orginal)

8. Philippine Income Tax Return (Form2316) copy

IMG_5361 copy1. Philippine Passport - Make sure that your passport is in best condition.

2. Visa Application Form – Since you are applying for Tourist Visa, you are supposed to provide details of yourself and where are you going to stay in Japan. It’s a big No No that you would say that you have a friend, a relative, or someone who will accommodate you in Japan. As tourist, you are expected to finance your own accommodation so that would be a hotel. Now, make sure that you provide the hotel name, address, and contact number. Not necessarily that you have to book ahead, maybe you can just have your reservation first. Most of the hotels will allow you to cancel your reservation (at least ahead of time) without any charges.

3. Photo (4.5cm x 4.5cm) with white background – See example on the photo posted here.

4. NSO Birth Certificate / NSO Marriage Contract (if married) – If you were able to get Japan Visa once, the next time you apply again, you don’t need to submit another NSO Birth Certificate.

5. Tour Itinerary – I suggest, just have at least 5-6 days written activity in your itinerary sheet. Anyway if ever you get the approval of your application, you will be given 15 days travel. So you can still change your itinerary. The reason why im telling you to have a short itinerary, see the next step.

6. Bank Balance Certficate – Make sure that it is enough to show that you are financially capable of  supporting yourself for the duration of your stay in Japan. As mentioned in the Tour Itinerary part, just have at least 5-6 days written activity so that whatever amount you have in your Bank Account, it is just enough that you will be able to sustain your stay based on what you have presented in your itinerary .

7. Philippine Income Tax Return (Form2316) copy - For those who are working online or if you cannot provide the income tax return (Form2316), what i did was i made a letter of consideration explaining that i work online. It would be better if you provide payslip, or anything that proves you work and earn money online.

Just in case, they would ask for Certificate of Employment (COE) and you cannot provide, you can include that in your letter of consideration explaining your work status.

For TOURIST VISA, you will pay 1,500 as handling/processing fee. For Davao city and nearby places, the only accredited travel agency is Discovery Tours, Inc. You can check their office at Quimpo Boulevard, Ecoland (at the back of Ice Giants). Manila Office contact # 02 – 892 – 2849 / 818-7716.

For other types of VISA APPLICATION, here are the corresponding fees.

Once completed all the requirements, the agency will give you this acknowledgement receipt.

First application

The following year, i applied again for another TOURIST VISA BUT…….. to my surprised, i was granted a Multiple  entry. That means, i can stay for 30 days in Japan and my VISA is good for 5 years. So i dont need to apply again and again. I didn’t apply for Multiple entry though. I think it is given to second-timer visitor or maybe they randomly give it to any applicants.

Japan Tourist Visa is really easy as long as you provide all the requirements and don’t forget those tips that i mentioned above, like if you dont have Form 2316, about the itinerary, and the bank certificate.

    • Naprey Almario says

yes its fine if you get your visa first before buying the tickets. Just remember that visa ‘s validity is 3 months. so within that period , you must use it. or if you get the multiply entry then that would be great. good luck and thanks for visiting my blog – nap

Hii there. Thank you so much for this post.

I have a few questions though, since I’m extremely anxious about getting my visa approved.

    Here is my profile:
    – First time traveler, will be travelling with my boyfriend (whose dad is in Tokyo) in Feb 2017 for five days (19-25). Tokyo lang.
    – Already booked plane tickets and hotel accommodation.
    – Fresh graduate, almost 3 months employed, asked our company accountant when they can release the ITR, she said late January. Asked my colleague (who is also going to Japan, same flight) when they released last year’s ITR, December 2015 daw.
    – Bank Certificate, work in progress pa lang. Target amount: 50-60k.

I’m super nervous kasi first time ko lang mag travel out of the country but I’ve seen bloggers saying that their visa has been approved regardless of their travel history. Really nervous about the ITR as well. I feel like the ITR is a huge basis. Hope guys can give me tips kasi this is really taking its toll on me, sobrang kinakabahan ako and I really want to visit Japan to witness the architecture and cityscapes, take photographs and of course experience their rich culture.

    Thank youu!

    • Naprey Almario says

Hello! Tell me tmore about it. :D By the way, success ang una kong visit sa Japan. Namiss ko ng sobra kaya babalik at babalik ako kaya mag aapply na ng multiple entry. Hoping for your favorable response. :D

      • Cline Saunar says

No, not all 2nd timers ay nabibigyan ng Multiple visa. Depends parin sya sa financial capabilities mo. Meron nga nagkamultiple na next apply balik to single entry.

Hi! Where planning to apply for japan visa by nxt year but my problem is i dont have ITR also, but im working as a nurse in a manufacturing company but were tax exempted, i dont know why, maybe were under coop or salary below minimum. I have business & have business permit but im not registered in bir…. what to do regarding ITR? & doni need to show the business permit? Thanks so much in advance.

    • Naprey Almario says

Just tell them u work online. Have the letter of consideration. Its in the article. Because if u declare that u have a business but no permit ,that would be a problem.

      • Cherry liza says

Do i need to mention in the letter that i work as a co nurse but where under cooperative, thats why i dont have itr,, & if i mention that im working also online,, wala bang i aatouch na proof that i work online? Thank you

    • Cline Saunar says

Provide DTI or SEC certification & Business permit. Along with your bank certificate. If you will declare employed ka, i think you should explain why you dont have ITR.

  13. Lyn Ramz says

Hi Sir, I find your article really helpful and was wondering if you can email a sample letter explaining why you can’t provide your ITR. I work homebased as well, I really want to take my son who has autism to see his favorite Harry Potter at Wizarding World in Japan. I hope you can help. Also, do we need to purchase tickets? Hoping for your prompt response. Thank you!

  14. Jihanna says

    Hello Sir Naprey!

I just want to ask, I’m a former bank employee for almost 10 years. But now I’m working as a preschool teacher for almost 2 years. But it’s part-time. My schedule is from 9am-2pm. Basically I have no ITR now since it’s part-time but I do have my old ITR which I requested from my previous bank employer. I have 2 credit cards under my name. I have a bank account amounting to 220K+. I am planning to go to Japan next year Mar 31-Apr 6 with my friend. We had booked free cancellation accommodation both in Tokyo & Osaka where we plan to visit in time for Sakura. I have traveled to Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia & Cambodia. I have 2 stamped visas (Korea & UAE). What are the chances of my approval in getting a Japan Visa without an ITR but with a written letter of explanation?

Please help me with this dilemma. Please reply thank you.

    Sincerely,
    Jihanna

    Hi!

I am planning to visit Japan again on 2017. I will be applying for visa for the 2nd time. Does this mean that I will have a higher chance of getting the visa application approved? Also, do I need to submit a photocopy of my old visa so that the embassy can see it?

  16. Tiya says

How did you explain about the no ITR thing? Online worker din kasi ako, pero wala ako ITR. Yung parents ko naman ang magbabayad sa trip, sabit lang ako, do you have an idea how to handle this? Thanks!

  17. markmuzic says

    Hi,

May I ask for a copy of your letter of explanation for the second time you applied for a visa when you were granted multiple entry? Thank you.

  18. Cherry says

thanks for the info,.. :) , I’ll be visiting Japan this coming March,, and I will submit my requirements tomorrow, and im hoping that they will approve my visa.. ;) :)

  19. Jovie says

Hello Sir! I am about to apply my visa soon, but I am really worried that I might get rejected. Here are my reasons and I hope you can shed light to my worries.

1.) I don’t have an ITR 2316 at the moment since I am still 9 months in the company. And even if I can provide a COE, it means they have to state my salary. But my salary is just minimum. Will it affect my application somehow?

In terms of bank cert, I have can show a good amount. But maybe even if I have a good amount on my bank cert. They might still focus on my current employment.

2.) Who do I address the explanation letter on why I cannot provide an ITR?

3.) If I go for the option of using my parents as my guarantor will it matter if they are retired already and cannot provide an old ITR?

I have been to many places abroad already and I hope it will be a good factor for them to approve my visa despite my low income at the moment in my day job… What do you think Sir?

  20. Francis says

Hi sir nap! How high is the chance to approved the multiple entry visa, even you just only apply for tourist visa, however i also had my first application visa which is 90 days. Thank you so much sir!

  21. Yurika Kobayashi says

Hi! Ask ko lang kung paano mo ginawa itinerary mo? Ilang days? Kasi db sa application form ilalagay mo rin kung ilang days mo want magstay? And magkano nasa bank account mo nun? Thanks!!!

  22. Elyse Guarin says

Hi, would like to ask if the letter of consideration was needed to be notarized or hindi na? Thanks

  23. Potpot says

    Sir,

how much money should we have in the bank to increase the chance na may approve ang application? I have two kids plus my husband.

    Thank you po..

  24. Rosii says

Hi! Thanks for sharing your info. Tanong ko lang po, if Okay lang ba yung gagawin kong IT eh IT to Tokyo, pero ang punta ko talaga sa Okinawa? wala kayang conflict yon?

    Thank youuu!!!

  25. Ann says

Hi, I’m also working online and afraid to get denied. I have no ITR and COE. Can I ask how you wrote your explanation letter? For being online worker and for having no ITR.

    Thank you so much!

  26. Myra says
